a poem for my daughter Kaylee

by Amy Cubbison on March 28th, 2011

All my life, I have dreamt of a girl
When it happened my head was in a whirl

Beautiful as can be and so gentle to touch
Didn’t want to let go or release my klutch

Sucking her thumb and quiet as a mouse
Couldn’t wait to bring her home to our house

Each day she makes me smile and fills my heart with glee
Want her to always be loved and happy as can be

She’s petite, beautiful, and very bright
Kind, and loving with all her might

I want her to know that she deserves the best
I pray to God and give him the rest

From my-life
